Xavier Harding is the tech editor at The New York Times’ T Brand Studio. Xavier was born and raised in New York City. After graduating from Gettysburg College, he worked at International Business Times/Newsweek as a tech and gaming reporter. From there he went onto Popular Science. As tech editor of Popular Science’s Now section, he continued to write about gadgets and the companies that make them, both in print and on the web. After Popular Science came Mic, where he was able to write culture stories pertaining to race/inclusion, the tech industry and user privacy online. Since then, Xavier’s worked for non-profits like The Markup and Mozilla Foundation (the Firefox folks) and has volunteered his time at the non-profit Read 718, where he tutors and reads to students to help with their reading skills. His alma-mater Gettysburg interviewed the grad in 2017 for a magazine profile about his experiences working in journalism and in 2018, he and a few coworkers won two Webby awards.
